This was my photo for the category “Wide Angle”. It was awarded “Best Photo Overall” by the Media Jury.It’s an artistic photo showing the huge amount of fish being chased by big groupers on the wreck Corveta Pereira D’ Eça (Cordeca) near the Island of Porto Santo (Portugal) in the Atlantic Ocean.

Qualified again for the next World Championship Underwaterphotography. Very happy! It’s going to be my 4th World Championship in a row. This one will take place September 2019 in Tenerife – Spain. This was my photo for the category “Fish portrait”. It’s a tiny (aprox. 3mm wide) colorful Blenny that I found on a dive site called Swanee Rock in the Sea of Cortez.  

Winning the Open Dutch National Championship for the 3rd time was a milestone for me. It was a strong competition with 50 photographers, not only from the Netherlands, but also from Belgium, Germany, Switserland and Denmark! Silver medal in the Wide Angle category on the 14th CMAS Underwater Photography World Championship in Cayo Largo (Cuba) last week!! It was a wonderful experience.
